KHARTOUM, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Sudan and Burkina Faso on Monday reiterated commitment to work together, in cooperation with the African Union, to find solutions for issues of the African continent and to combat terrorism and extremist groups.

The two countries on Monday signed a cooperation agreement in political, economic and cultural fields.

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and President of Burkina Faso Roch Marc Christian Kabore on Monday held a press conference at Khartoum airport at the conclusion of the visit of Kabore.

"We have historical relations with Burkina Faso and we recognize its positive role in Darfur via the presence of its troops within the peacekeeping mission," said al-Bashir.

President Kabore emphasized focus on cooperation among the countries of the continent, saying that Sudan provided good experience in developments.

Talks between the two sides focused on reactivation of the agreements signed in August last year within the framework of the joint ministerial committee.

President Kabore arrived in Khartoum on Sunday in an official two-day visit to Sudan, accompanied by a number of ministers and officials.
