Gambian president appoints 6 ambassadors-at-large

BANJUL, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Gambian President Adama Barrow has appointed six ambassadors-at-large to represent his country across the world, the foreign ministry said Monday.

"The President has appointed them to represent him at various places in order to engage in economic diplomacy, encouraging foreign investors and tourism promotion for the progress of the Gambia," said Saikou Ceesay, communication officer of the foreign ministry, to Xinhua.

Ceesay said there is no specific country where they are attached to as the six can randomly perform their functions in countries of Europe, America and Asia.

The newly appointed ambassadors are Moses Jallow, Fatou Ceesay, Saul Frazer, Banta Njie, Momodou Jagana and Alkali Conteh.
