SUVA, March 24 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese national has died while scuba diving in Fiji, officials of China's embassy in Fiji confirmed to Xinhua on Friday.

The victim was on a scuba diving trip in waters near Fiji's tourism hub of Nadi on Wednesday when the incident happened, embassy officials said.

The victim, traveling by herself in Nadi, left out to a small island for a day cruise on Wednesday, where she took a scuba diving trip accompanied by a local dive control specialist, during which a sign of struggle was seen on her face as she could not reply through hand signals, police said.
