KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Executive chairman of e-commerce giant Alibaba Jack Ma called here Thursday to make globalization more inclusive.

Globalization was designed for big companies, and was designed and negotiated by governments in the past 20 years, Ma said at the sidelines of a global transformation forum.

"We should make globalization more inclusive," he said, calling for more participation by developing countries, small businesses and young people. Ma noted that small businesses would play more prominent roles in the future.

The Alibaba executive chairman also urged for more time for globalization. "We could not kill the baby only because he was crying," he said, "We need to give globalization anther 30 to 50 years."

Talking about the Belt and Road initiative, Ma said the initiative can bring opportunities for Belt and Road countries as well as small and medium sized businesses in the related regions.

Alibaba group on Wednesday announced a plan to set up an e-commerce hub in Malaysia encompassing logistics, cloud-computing and e-financial service to boost trade and e-commerce in the region.

The e-commerce hub will be part of the collaboration between Alibaba and the Malaysian government in the development of a Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) in Malaysia, and in line with the Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) promoted by Ma.
