AMMAN, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The Jordanian government said Wednesday that preparatory meeting for the 28th Arab Summit will start on Thursday, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said that all is set for the summit, which Jordan is hosting for the fourth time.
The minister said that the Palestinian issue will top the agenda of the summit, stressing that lack of a solution to the Palestinian issue will lead to more instability in the region.
He also said that all Arabs are keen on ending the violence in Syria and the suffering of the Syrian people.
He added that all Arab leaders have reached consensus on the importance of extending support to Iraq in dealing with security challenges and fighting terrorism and extremism.
Jordan is looking forward to hosting a successful summit that works on enhancing joint Arab action and addressing regional challenges, he added.
The meeting of Arab ministers of foreign affairs will be held on March 27, while the Arab leaders will meet on March 29.
