Nigeria arrests drug dealers selling to refugees

ABUJA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Nigerian authorities on Wednesday said charges would be pressed against ten drug dealers who were caught distributing hard drugs to refugees in the country.

The Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the anti-narcotics force of the West African country, said it also arrested 60 internally displaced people for alleged drug abuse in five camps in Maiduguri, the capital of northern Borno State.

Ona Ogilegwu, head of the anti-narcotics agency in Borno State, told reporters that about 84 people are currently in detention for possessing illicit drugs.

Some of the people earlier arrested were caught between January and early March, he added.
