Malaysia's foreign reserves at 94.9 bln USD

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's central bank, Bank Negara, said Wednesday that its international reserves amounted to 425.5 billion ringgit (94.9 billion U.S. dollars) as of March 15.

The international reserves consisted of 88.3 billion U.S. dollars in foreign currency reserves, 0.8 billion U.S. dollars in International Monetary Fund (IMF) Reserves Position, 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), 1.4 billion U.S. dollars in gold and 3.3 billion U.S. dollars in other reserves assets.

Its reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.3 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt.
