BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson on Tuesday hailed Vice Premier Wang Yang's recent visit to the Philippines as a complete success that will push forward bilateral ties.

The two sides reached consensus on promoting trade, investment, infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism, spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a press briefing.

Wang was in the Philippines from March 16 to 19.

During the trip, Wang held talks with the Philippine cabinet's economic management team, attended a ceremony marking the beginning of China-ASEAN Tourism Cooperation Year, and an economic and trade forum.

The two sides signed the Six-Year Development Program for Trade and Economic Cooperation between China and the Philippines.

Calling the Philippines a "friendly neighbor," Hua said that the two countries have the consensus on maintaining neighborly friendship and deepening all-round cooperation.

"China will work with the Philippines to implement the consensus by the two countries' leaders, increase mutual political trust, carry out all-round cooperation to better benefit the two peoples and promote regional peace and development," she said.
