CHONGQING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- A direct flight opened Tuesday between southwest China's Chongqing Municipality and Los Angeles, the municipal commission of transport announced Tuesday.
The flight, operated by Hainan Airlines, will depart Chongqing at 9:25 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday. The return flight will depart Los Angeles around midnight (local time) every Wednesday and Sunday.
The flight is the first direct air route from Chongqing to the United States and is expected to boost bilateral economic and cultural exchange.
