SOFIA, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The total hourly labor cost in Bulgaria rose by 8 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2016, preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) showed on Monday.
The total hourly labor cost grew by 8.1 percent in industry, by 9.4 percent in services and by 2.2 percent in construction, the NSI said.
By economic activities, "Arts, entertainment and recreation" enjoyed the highest annual growths in total labor costs with 25.5 percent, followed by "Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles" 14.3 percent and "Information and communication" 10.7 percent.
The lowest increases were observed in "Water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities" by 1.7 percent, "Construction" by 2.2 percent and "Education" by 3.0 percent, the statistics revealed.
