RABAT, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan King Mohammed VI and visiting Guinea's President Alpha Conde discussed on Thursday bilateral cooperation and stability in Africa, a statement from the king's office said.
The talks, which were held at the Royal Palace of Casablanca, focused on the new level reached by bilateral relations following the recent official visit of the king to Conakry and the ambitious projects launched and announced on this occasion, the statement pointed out.
These discussions also tackled the agenda in the areas of peace, stability and development of the African Union, of which Alpha Conde is the acting chairman, the statement added.
The leaders also mentioned Morocco's recent request to join the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the steps to achieve this objective.
Morocco submitted in February its request to join the ECOWAS less than a month after it re-joined the African Union.
