FRANKFURT, March 15 (Xinhua) -- German shares edged up slightly on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 0.18 percent, or 21.08 points, to close at 12,009.87 points.
German maker of sportswear and equipment Adidas was the top winner among the blue chips by gaining 2.28 percent. Commerzbank and German flag carrier Lufthanse rose 2.02 percent and 1.84 percent respectively.
Energy group E.ON, German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and Volkswagen were the three top losers, whose shares dropped by 3.52 percent, 0.89 percent and 0.81 percent respectively.
Volkswagen was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 288.61 million euros (306.56 million U.S. dollars) in the day.
