Hollande reiterates support to Cote d'Ivoire to fight terrorism, boost security

PARIS, March 15 (Xinhua) -- At a meeting with Alassane Ouattara, president of Cote d'Ivoire, French President Francois Hollande on Wednesday reiterated support to the West African country to reinforce its security and eradicate terrorism.

"France would continue... its training of Ivorian forces to be competent in the fight against terrorism," Hollande said.

French head of state also confirmed France's support for Ivorian government's efforts to restructure domestic security forces in preparation for their deployment for UN or African Union peacekeeping missions.

In a statement released by his office, Hollande welcomed the rapid progress of the process of the Ivorian debt's cancellation, launched in July 2012, which helped to finance education, health, infrastructure and rural development projects.
