ANKARA, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Dutch investments in Turkey are not at risk throughout the recent diplomatic row between both countries, Turkish Minister of European Union Affairs Omer Celik said on Wednesday.

Turkey called on businesses worldwide to communicate that Turkey is a safe country for investment including Dutch businessmen who invest and have businesses which create employment opportunities in Turkey, Celik told media.

Ankara's displeasure is with the Dutch government, however the private sector, business world, tourists and the people of the Netherlands are excluded from this crisis, he said.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said on March 14 that Turkey could impose economic sanctions on the Netherlands amid ongoing tensions between The Hague and Ankara.

Earlier, the Turkish government launched several political sanctions against the Netherlands, including absent high-level relations and a flight ban for Dutch diplomats.

Diplomatic tensions between both countries escalated over the weekend after Dutch authorities canceled Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu's flight permit to the Netherlands.

Furthermore, Dutch authorities then blocked Turkish Family Minister Fatma Betul Sayan Kaya from entering the Turkish consulate in Rotterdam on Saturday.
