MANAMA, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Police patrol forces sustained damages during a Kalashnikov attack in Salmabad in the central Bahrain, tweeted the Interior Ministry on Wednesday.
The ministry highlighted no injuries were reported among the police team assigned to carry routine security work.
Police patrols which are deployed throughout Bahrain, especially in conflict areas with violence and rioting, have in recent years witnessed increased attacks against them via Molotov cocktails and homemade explosives.
Tens of police personnel lost their lives or sustained life-long injuries as a result of the attacks.
The ministry confirmed it has launched an investigation in order to identify and arrest the attackers.
