SOFIA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria's exports to and imports from the non-European Union (EU) countries in January increased by 12.7 percent and 30.8 percent year-on-year respectively, official data revealed on Monday.
Exports to the non-EU countries amounted to 1.312 billion lev (713 million U.S. dollars) in January, according to the National Statistical Institute (NSI).
Main trade partners of Bulgaria were Turkey, Egypt, China, Serbia and Macedonia, which accounted for 52.7 percent of the exports to non-EU countries, NSI data showed.
The largest growths in the exports were recorded in the sections "Mineral fuel, lubricants and related materials" (73.8 percent) and "Animals and vegetable oils, fats and waxes" (24.2 percent). The most notable fall was reported in section "Miscellaneous manufactured articles" (36.3 percent).
Meanwhile, Bulgarian imports from the non-EU countries reached 1.575 billion lev, with the largest amounts reported for the goods imported from Russia, Turkey, China and Serbia, the NSI said.
The imports of "Crude materials, inedible (except fuel)" and "Animals and vegetable oils, fats and waxes" jumped by 89.5 percent and 68.8 percent respectively.
