Pakistan condemns attack on Kabul hospital

ISLAMABAD, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a hospital in Afghanistan's capital of Kabul, resulting in the loss of many precious lives and injuring dozens others.

Reports from Kabul said that nearly 30 people were killed and dozens others were injured when a group of gunmen stormed the city's main military hospital.

Islamic States (IS) has reportedly claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this heinous terrorist attack and convey our prayers for early recovery of the injured," the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.

A statement said Pakistan reiterates its unequivocal condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

"In this regard, we reaffirm our commitment to cooperation with the Afghan government and the international community for the elimination of the scourge of terrorism," it said.
