TOKYO, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were mixed Tuesday morning as a poor lead from Wall Street set a negative early tone, while the transport sector saw gains on news that a big industry player may hike its delivery rates.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 33.65 points, or 0.17 percent, from Monday to 19,345.49.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 0.35 points, or 0.02 percent, to 1,555.25.
