Myanmar, Cambodia vow to promote cooperation in education, tourism sectors

YANGON, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar and Cambodia have vowed to promote cooperation in education and tourism sectors, Myanmar News Agency reported Wednesday.

The pledge came when Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw met with visiting Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong in Nay Pyi Taw Tuesday.

The two also discussed promotion of bilateral relations, investment and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

In a meeting with State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, Hor Namhong also exchanged views with her on cooperation in transportation sector, cultural and political improvement.

Hor Namhong's discussions with Vice President U Myint Swe also covered promotion of cooperation in establishing cultural zones in Bagan and Mandalay as well as Angkor Wat cultural zone in Cambodia.

During the Cambodian deputy prime minister's visit in Myanmar, the two countries signed an agreement on education cooperation for 2017-2021 to enhance the development of the sector.
