BRATISLAVA, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Confidence in the Slovak economy is the highest in six years, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.
The three-month moving average of the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) continued to increase in February, rising by 2.2 points on the month to reach 105.6 points.
"The headline figure hit its highest level in the past six years. The rise was primarily fuelled by increasing confidence in industry, services and partly also among consumers," said the agency.
The ESI is currently 4.8 points higher year-on-year and exceeds the long-term average by 1.6 points. The indicator of confidence in construction was the only one to decrease in February.
"This was largely due to less optimistic assessments of expected employment rate and orders," added the Statistics Office.
