GAZA, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing warned Israel on Tuesday that if it attacks the Gaza Strip again, the coastal enclave that Hamas movement rules, Gaza militants will fire back.
Abu Obeida said on his Twitter account "apparently, the enemy only understands the language of force, and keeping silent would be wrongly understood that we are weak."
"Any upcoming aggression similar to what happened on Monday, then the armed resistance in Gaza, led by al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas armed wing, will say their final word," he continued. "If armed resistance gives a promise, it fulfills it, and the coming days will reveal it."
On Monday, Israeli war planes launched several airstrikes on posts and facilities that belong to Gaza militant groups following a rocket attack carried out from the Gaza Strip into Israel. No damage or injuries were reported, according to Israeli Radio.
Two Palestinians were injured in the airstrikes and severe damage was caused to the posts that were struck by the Israeli war planes missiles.
Israel waged a large-scale military air and ground offensive on the Gaza Strip for 50 days during the summer of 2014, leaving around 2,200 Palestinians killed and large destruction in the enclave's infrastructure and housing.
