HANOI, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese capital Hanoi will build three underground parking lots, including a five-storey underground car park, according to the city's People's Committee on Tuesday.

Among five floors of the underground car park in the city's Thong Nhat Park, the first underground floor will be used for commercial and service purposes, while the remaining four underground floors will be car parking area, reported local VNEconomy online newspaper.

The total construction area of the car park is over 15,000 square meters with over 5,600 square meters on each floor, providing enough space for 390 cars. On the ground, there should be trees, operating house, and other supporting buildings with total investment of some 100 billion Vietnamese dong (4.48 million U.S. dollars).

Hanoi's departments of planning and investment, finance, construction, taxation as well as natural resources and environment are also urged to coordinate with each other to produce a "special mechanism" to encourage more investors to join the underground project, said the city, adding that investors may be allowed to sell maximum of 30 percent of total park slots.
