LAGOS, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- A commercial plane carrying 105 passengers Monday had a deflated tyre on take-off at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub, an official said.

Chris Iwarah, spokesperson for Air Peace, operator of the aircraft, told Xinhua that the Lagos-Abuja flight was aborted upon take-off at the airport when the pilot-in-command suspected that there was an issue with one of the tyres of the aircraft.

He said the passengers were all calm, as it was not a life-threatening incident.

"Although it was initially suspected to be a case of burst tyre, our engineering department later inspected the aircraft and confirmed that one of the tyres got deflated. The issue has since been addressed," the spokesperson added.
