TALLINN, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Estonian Finance Ministry has come up with a proposal to work out a strategic investment plan intended to boost Estonia's competitiveness and defense capabilities.
The proposal envisages spending 315 million euros on these purposes from 2018 to 2020.
Baltic News Service quoted Estonian Finance Minister Sven Sester as saying that the "plan is to make additional investments in infrastructure and improve reasonably priced internet access across Estonia."
The finance minister wants funding for the proposed investment plan to be provided from Estonia's budget surplus, starting next year.
If the Estonian government approves the plan, 135 million euros worth of investments would be made in infrastructure, while 60 million would be allotted to defense along with investment to others.
