YANGON, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- A total of eleven people in Myanmar's northern Rakhine state have been arrested on board a motor boat seized in the Naaf River in the state, Myanmar News Agency reported Wednesday.

The Myanmar navy found the boat heading to Bangladesh during a routine patrol on Monday evening at about 0440 p.m. local time and the men were arrested on suspicion of illegally migrating to the neighboring country, the report said.

The Myanmar security forces are making arrangement to hand over the suspects to the local police station in Sittway, the capital of Rakhine state, the report added.

Meanwhile, Myanmar patrol police also seized 97,500 stimulant tablets worth 190 million kyats (about 146,153 U.S. dollars) from a row boat in the Naaf River in Maungtaw township, Rakhine state, on Feb. 12 night when the boat was heading for Bangladesh, according to an earlier official report.

The drug traffickers aboard abandoned the boat and fled when the police patrol pursued.
