OSLO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Kaci Kullmann Five, chairwoman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee and a former leader of the Conservative Party, died on Sunday at the age of 65 after having cancer for several years, local media reported on Monday.
"The Norwegian Nobel Committee has with great sadness received the message that Kaci Kullmann Five has passed away," the committee wrote in a press release.
Kullmann Five was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2014.
Last autumn, Kullmann Five had to cancel several appearances due to the illness, including the award ceremony for Nobel Peace Prize 2016 in Oslo on Dec. 10.
