BRUSSELS, Feb.18 (Xinhua) -- A passenger train derailed on Saturday at the station of Leuven, east of Belgian capital of Brussels, killing one and injuring several others, city mayor of Louvain confirmed.
Louis Tobback, the mayor, said the train derailed at the exit of the station of Leuven.
Tobback said the deceased was not on board the three-car train, which carried about a hundred people.
The reasons for the accident have yet to be determined, said the mayor.
Meanwhile, the SNCB, the national railway company of Belgium, also confirmed the accident, and warned service interruption in affected lines.
