BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- A total of 104 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) went on China's New Third Board last week, data showed Saturday.
The newcomers brought the number of companies listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotation (NEEQ) to 10,627, according to Zhejiang-based Hithink RoyalFlush Information Network, a financial information provider.
Turnover on the board reached 3.78 billion yuan (around 552 million U.S. dollars) from Monday to Friday.
NEEQ began life in 2006 as an experimental platform for non-listed small high-tech firms in Beijing's Zhongguancun Science Park.
It complements the country's existing SME board and the ChiNext board on the Shenzhen stock exchange. The board is seen as an easy financing channel with low costs and simple listing procedures.
