Cambodian PM, Putin's top security advisor discuss bilateral ties, int'l issues

PHNOM PENH, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen met with visiting Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev on Tuesday, discussing ways to enhance bilateral ties and exchanging views on regional and international issues.

"The meeting focused on the strengthening and expanding of relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Russia, especially in the security sector," Kao Kim Hourn, a minister attached to the Cambodian prime minister, told reporters after their talks.

He said both sides also shared views on regional and international issues, especially the issue of counterterrorism.

On Monday, Nikolai also held talks with Cambodian Defense Minister Gen. Tea Banh, focusing their discussion on security cooperation.
