TIRANA, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Roughly 71 percent of Albanians believe that, if implemented properly, justice reform in the country would have a positive impact, Romana Vlahutin, the head of the European Union (EU) delegation to Albania, told reporters at a press conference Thursday.

The ambassador stressed that although this was a great sign, showing that citizens understood what the reform was about, numbers also indicated that Albanians were still skeptical whether change would be possible.

"Around 46 percent of Albanians believe that justice reform will be implemented properly, while 42 percent think it will not," Vlahutin said.

She made the statements during the presentation of opinion poll results from "Trust in Governance 2016" carried out by the NGO Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) in Tirana with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Vlahutin highlighted that citizens had a high level of trust in EU institutions.

In response, Vlahutin said the EU was committed to supporting the implementation of justice system reform in Albania. Enditem
