MADRID, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- There was a tragedy here on Friday morning in the La Paz Hospital when a man and his baby daughter of one year both died after he jumped from a fourth floor window holding the baby in his arms.
The Spanish press reported the 40-year-old man and his partner had gone to visit the baby, who was receiving treatment in the hospital, at 8:50 local time (0750 GMT) on Friday morning.
Hospital workers went to the room where the baby was being treated after hearing raised voices and it appeared the pair were arguing.
According to reports, the man picked up the baby girl and jumped out of a window falling onto an interior patio floor.
Despite the efforts of the health services to provide emergency resuscitation on both the man and his daughter, both were later pronounced dead.
