Moldova eyes more FDI

BUCHAREST, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Moldova hopes to attract more foreign direct investment in 2017, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Economics Minister Octavian Calmic said on Tuesday.

Moldova aims to attract 250 million U.S. dollars in foreign investment in 2017, representing 30 percent more than in 2016, he said.

According to him, the free economic zones and industrial parks in Moldova looks to attract 86 million U.S. dollars in foreign investment in 2017, twice more than the previous year.

On exports, Moldova hopes to increase by 10 percent year on year to 2.25 billion U.S. dollars in 2017, he said.
