MOGADISHU, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were injured in a landmine explosion that hit a restaurant in Middle Shabelle region of southern Somalia on Monday, police said.
Police officer Abdifitah Abukar told Xinhua that among the wounded were two soldiers who were at the restaurant in Burane village at the time of the explosion.
A witness said the bomb might have been planted in the restaurant, which he said is frequented by government soldiers.
Militant group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the explosion while warning it would continue its attacks against the Somali government.
