BUCHAREST, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- A commemorative stamp was introduced into circulation on Thursday to mark the 10th anniversary of Romania's entry into the European Union.
Romfilatelia, a company member of the Romanian National Post, dedicated to this significant anniversary the philatelic issue, entitled "10 years Romania in the European Union", Romfilatelia said in a statement.
The issue comprised of one stamp, with face value of 8 lei (1.9 U.S. dollars), visually represents both symbolic and chromatic, a well-balanced combination of elements of national identity and the EU insignia.
The new stamp issued in the edition of 26,030 copies.
The stamp will be available as from Friday at the online store of the Romfilatelia, as well as its stores in main cities like Bucharest, Bacau, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi and Timisoara.
The issue is completed by a first day cover, and as page composition were used the sheet of 32 stamps and minisheet of 6 stamps with illustrated border.
Romania submitted its official application for EU membership in 1995, and finally joined the geo-political entity on Jan. 1 of 2007. Enditem
