Thai team defeats Lao Premier League All-Star 2-1 in friendly football match

VIENTIANE, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's SCG Muangthong United defeated Lao Premier League All-Stars 2-1 in a friendly match Wednesday in Lao capital Vientiane.

Laos scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute, then Thailand leveled the game 1-1 in the 38th minute.

The Thai team scored their second goal in the 55th minute to win the game.

Speaking at a press conference held before the match, head coach of the Lao Premier League All-Stars, Bounlap Khenkittisack, said his team had a short time to prepare for the match and they lack some of the key players from the national league.

The charity match is part of SCG Muangthong United's ASEAN Tour for 2017. All money from ticket sales for this match will be presented to Lao Ministry of Education and Sports to support the development of Lao junior sport.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the event, over 150 children from different schools in Vientiane had an opportunity to learn the basic skills of playing proper football from the head coach and players from SCG Muangthong United on Tuesday. Enditem
