TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Monday that the Islamic republic seeks to improve relations with Saudi Arabia, Tehran Times reported.
Despite Saudi's hostile political approach toward Tehran, Iran does not favor "eternally" troubled relations with the Muslim country, said Bahram Qasemi, the spokesman of Iran's foreign ministry.
"We don't intend to have any problem with our neighbors and Saudi Arabia. Nor do we intend to have no relations with them," said Qasemi in his weekly press briefing.
"If Saudi Arabia makes serious changes to its behaviors toward Iran, and we perceive it, then it can open the way for other issues," he said.
Iran and Saudi Arabia have been locked in bitter controversies over the ongoing conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
