BEIJING, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- China's treasury bond futures closed lower on Wednesday, with the contract for settlement in March 2017 closing 0.141 percent lower at 99.410 yuan (about 14.36 U.S. dollars).
The June contract closed 0.157 percent lower at 98.565 yuan. The September contract closed 0.163 percent lower at 98.040 yuan.
The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermined price and set date. They allow investors to bet on and profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.
