Thailand denies online allegations of contaminated rice, fruits exported to world markets

BANGKOK, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's institutions abroad had been assigned to deny the online allegations that its exported jasmine rice and canned fruits were contaminated with toxins and viruses, said the Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn on Monday.

Such allegations are diffused on social media since 2014.

Apiradi said that these exported goods are hygienic and toxic-free, and the Department of International Trade Promotion and Thai embassies are trying to reassure the importers worldwide, especially the United States and Canada.
