China, Ukraine hold concert to mark 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties

KIEV, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- China and Ukraine held a grand concert named "Joyful Spring Festival" in Kiev earlier this week to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.

In a speech prior to the concert, Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei hailed the sustainable development of friendly ties between the two countries over past decades.

"We want to express our respect to all those contributed to the development of Sino-Ukraine relations," said Du.

Musicians from both countries performed at the concert held in the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. Chinese and Ukrainian officials and people of various circles attended the concert.

The two countries established diplomatic relationship on Jan. 4, 1992.
