BUCHAREST, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Romania is set to record the fewest new foreign-invested companies over the past 20 years, official data revealed on Friday.
The number of new foreign-invested companies in Romania dropped by 8.6 percent year on year in the first 11 months of this year, according to the National Office of the Trade Registrar (ONRC).
The number of new companies with foreign capital stood at 4,912, with an overall value of the share capital at 35.5 million U.S. dollars.
By the end of October, a total of 209,000 companies in Romania had foreign capital participation, with an overall value of over 45.36 billion U.S. dollars.
Among the foreign-invested companies established in Romania, construction companies have the largest share, with nearly 30 percent, followed by industry and professional services.
Italy has the largest number of companies invested in Romania, while Dutch companies have the largest investments in terms of value.
