BUCHAREST, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Moldova's President Igor Dodon said Friday that restoring full-fledged ties with Russia is his "priority goal as head of state".

In his inaugural speech, Dodon said his country would work to restore "full-fledged friendly and strategic partnership relations with the Russian Federation".

The restoration of relations with Russia will have a positive impact on the economy of Moldova, and hundreds of thousands of farmers and migrant workers, he said.

Dodon also said Moldova will pursue a foreign policy based on partnership and friendship with all countries and build bridges with both the East and West.

"Our further cooperation with the United States and the People's Republic of China will be a priority for us," the president said.

Moldova will also intensify relations with neighboring countries Romania and Ukraine, and will develop multidimensional cooperation with the EU, he said.

Dodon, running on the Party of Socialists ticket, won the presidential runoff on Nov. 13 with 52.18 percent of the vote.
