LUSAKA, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Zambian government said on Friday that plans to introduce a social health insurance scheme have reached an advanced stage.
Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said the scheme will be ready by February next year, adding that a bill to introduce the scheme will soon be presented in parliament.
He said in an interview with state broadcaster, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation, that the scheme will ensure improved health care delivery in the country.
It is also an effective of health financing which will result in strengthening the sector and create jobs, he added.
