Xi expresses condolences over fireworks market explosion in Mexico

BEIJING, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a message to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, expressing condolences over a fireworks market explosion near Mexico City.

In the message, Xi expressed deep condolences to the victims of the blast and extended sincere sympathy to the families of the victims.

Xi also wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the tragedy.

An explosion took place on Tuesday at the San Pablito Fireworks Market in Tultepec, a town in the State of Mexico close to the capital of Mexico City, leaving 32 people dead and dozens of others injured.
