ATHENS, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- A Greek ferry crashed on Thursday into the dock of Chios island port amid harsh weather conditions, Greece's Coast Guard has announced.

At the time of the incident, there were 86 people onboard and winds measuring up to eight on the Beaufort scale were blowing in the area. No injuries were reported, according to the Coast Guard.

The "Nissos Mykonos" set sail from Kavala in northern Greece and was expected to reach Piraeus port.

The ferry will not set sail again until an inspection is concluded and its damage repaired, the Greek Coast Guard said.

It was the second such incident this week in the Aegean due to rough seas. On Sunday, another ferry crashed into the pier of Kassos Island. Although there were no injuries, the ferry's captain was arrested after it reached Karpathos island, because he continued the journey without permission from officials from Kassos Port Authority.
