TOKYO, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares slipped Thursday morning as investors continued locking in gains ahead of the New Year and other holidays home and abroad.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 31.05 points, or 0.16 percent, from Wednesday to 19,413.44.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 3.14 points, or 0.2 percent, to 1,541.80.
Decliners were led by marine transportation, bank, precision instrument issues.
