ST. PETERSBURG, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out on board of the Russian nuclear-powered icebreaker "Yamal" on Wednesday.
According to Tass, the accident was caused by a filament lamp overheating of a spotlight protective cover. The fire was extinguished by the ship crew, but no damage to the icebreaker was reported.
The icebreaker "Yamal" was launched in 1992 and is one of the Russian "Arktika" family of icebreakers, the most powerful icebreakers in the world. The ship is currently under repair.
