VIENTIANE, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Lao stock market closed on Wednesday down by 2.38 percent against the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 25.54 points to 1,005.20 points. A total of 11,900 shares worth about 59 million Lao kip (over 7,209 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.
There are five companies listed at the Lao stock market. Souvanny Home Center Public Company (SVN), Lao World Public Company (LWPC), Lao commercial bank Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL) and Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company (PTL) had no trade.
Shares of state-run energy giant Electricite du Laos Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) ell by 2.94 percent to 4,950 Lao kip (over 61 U.S. cents).
