YANGON, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- A suspected drug traffickers has been killed as a policeman defended himself against the knife attack in Maungtaw, Myanmar's northern Rakhine state, Myanmar News Agency reported Tuesday.
While a security force was searching a house owned by Hammad Tusaung in Ducheertan village Monday, Tusaung attacked a policeman with a 15-inch long knife, making the policeman suffer a wound in the arm and then fell.
The attacker got shot and died on the spot after he tried to stab the policeman.
During the search of the house, the police found items including an empty bottle and two pipes used for snorting drug.
