HO CHI MINH CITY, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City is poised to welcome over 5.2 million foreign visitors in 2016, up 10 percent against 2015, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said on Monday.
The city is estimated to receive 21.8 million domestic visitors this year. Meanwhile, its total tourism revenues are expected to rise 9 percent to 103 trillion Vietnamese dong (4.6 billion U.S. dollars).
Ho Chi Minh City plans to receive 5.5 million international arrivals and 24 million domestic visitors in 2017, and make total tourism revenues of 112 trillion Vietnamese dong (5 billion U.S. dollars), said the municipal Tourism Department.
The city is home to nearly 2,200 hotels and mini-hotels, and 1,314 travel agencies, including 647 foreign ones and 9 representative offices of foreign travel firms.
