BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday sent a message to congratulate Uzbekistan's new Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.

In the message, Li said China-Uzbekistan relations have maintained a steady and healthy development, with frequent bilateral high-level exchanges, deepening political mutual trust and joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative that has yielded significant initial results.

This year, Li said, the two countries have established a comprehensive strategic partnership, further solidifying the political foundation for their cooperation.

The Chinese government highly values, as ever, the development of relations with Uzbekistan, Li added.

"I am willing to work together with you to further deepen bilateral cooperation in every field, constantly pushing forward the comprehensive strategic partnership between our two countries," said the Chinese premier.

Aripov was nominated by Uzbekistan's ruling party for the post on Monday to succeed Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who was sworn in as the new Uzbek president on Wednesday.
